Where History Comes Alive

Plan Your Visit

What to Expect

Pioneer Acres has over 20 buildings on 50 acres of land. You should be prepared for a little bit of walking, or a lot of walking depending on how much you want to see.

If you have only one hour:

If you have several hours:

Most buildings are open for self-guided touring. We also offer staff-guided tours of various buildings at various times during the day. You could call ahead to find out what we're planning for a particular day or just come out to see what we're highlighting. Hosted tours are at no additional charge and do not require pre-booking, but times may be limited.

Please note that some buildings (such as our truck buildings and the Long House) require a guide to visit. Not every building is open for self-guided touring.

Ammenities & Accessibility

Food Services: Pioneer Acres has water and soft drinks available for purchase in our gift shop but we do not normally have any food services on site. We have lots of picnic tables so you are welcome to bring your own lunch. We may have a full concession at some special events - please check the details of a particular event to be sure.

Parking: Parking is free and we have a lot of it. You are welcome to park your car or RV for the day.

Camping: We only allow limited public camping through Harvest Hosts. Please do not expect to camp overnight unless you have pre-booked through them.

Mobility: Unfortunately, Pioneer Acres is not wheelchair friendly. Getting around on our grounds is similar to getting around on a working farm. Some buildings have concrete floors and could be toured by wheelchair, but the roadways to get into any of the buildings are all dirt and/or gravel. People using walkers may fare okay but should still be reasonably agile.

Mobility Aids: We do not allow guests to bring their own golf cart or anything similar. Personal mobility devices such as electric scooters may be used, but we ask that you call ahead to be sure.

Caregivers: We do not offer discounts for support workers or caregivers. If you need help to navigate the grounds, everyone must pay regular admission rates.

Pets: We allow dogs on the grounds but not inside any buildings, which significantly limits what you can see. We do not allow any other animals. We recommend leaving pets at home.
