COVID-19 Statement

Pioneer Acres is closed to the public until at least July 1, 2020. We are doing our part in the ongoing effort to flatten the curve and reduce the impact of COVID-19 on our healthcare system. Our staff and board of directors are following the advice and guidelines provided by Alberta Health Services.

The Alberta Government Relaunch Strategy allows for museums to re-open in Phase 1, which is scheduled for May 14. Although we would like to be open on that date, we do not feel that we can be ready by then. We will remain closed until July 1 as we develop policies and procedures to keep our visitors, employees, and volunteers safe.

Our Spring Tractor Pull, Pioneer Farm Life Theme Days, and Neighbours Day events are all cancelled for this year. Other events (including our annual show) are on hold until we see how things develop during the spring months.

Although our doors are closed to the public, we are still taking every measure to ensure we continue to protect and maintain our assets during this unprecedented time. Pioneer Acres staff are available via email or telephone to answer any questions or concerns you may have. Please see our contact page for ways to do that.

As a registered charity, this closure impacts us financially. If you would like to help support Pioneer Acres, please consider making a charitable donation.

If you are staff, a member, or a volunteer, please stay off the grounds if you or someone you are close to:

  • is ill or has a fever, cough, or shortness of breath
  • has exposure to someone diagnosed with COVID-19
  • is self-isolating or under quarantine
  • has travelled internationally in the last 14 days
  • has any health conditions that may impact others

Thank you for helping stop the spread of COVID-19
